Paul Allen dead at 65: Microsoft co-founder passes way from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma



Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has passed away aged 65.
The billionaire died on Monday afternoon from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma, his family announced.
The 65-year-old, believed to be the 46th richest person in the world, had revealed his cancer had returned in an emotional announcement earlier this month.
A post on the tech tycoon's blog said: "I learned recently that the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that I was treated for in 2009 has returned. My team of doctors has begun treatment of the disease and I plan on fighting this aggressively.

"A lot has happened in medicine since I overcame this disease in 2009. My doctors are optimistic that I will see good results from the latest therapies, as am I."
Paul, who also owns American football team the Seattle Seahawks and basketball team the Portland Trail Blazers, made the bulk of his money after co-founding Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975.

Since then, the 65-year-old invested in technology and media companies, real estate holdings, in addition to building a portfolio of professional sports teams.

The body of Efemena Okedi, wife of late Reggae star, Ras Kimono, was on Friday laid to rest at Atan cemetery, Yaba, Lagos. Okedi was Kimono’s manager and a member of his band when they were alive. Ras Kimono’s wife, Efe laid to rest amidst tears She passed away on June 10, at a Lagos hospital shortly after the death of her husband. The late Efe was buried at exactly 10.45 a.m. in a solemn mood amid tears from friends and family. Ras Kimono died after a brief illness and was laid to rest on Aug. 28, in Asaba.
