An investigative report in a documentary which was exclusively released by BBC Africa Eye, have shown how maids are being treated by their Middle Eastern bosses. It’s the same in Lebanon, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

The video which emerged online and is making the rounds on social media, show how a victim was burned and abandoned, eventually dying from her burn wounds. Other victims also narrated their tales of abuse and harassment.

Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was featured on the cover of the October 27 issue of Telegraph Magazine, where she discussed Nigeria, misogyny, and the #MeToo movement. Chimamanda talked about losing faith in Nigeria after her father was kidnapped in 2015, how she feels he was kidnapped because of her. She said: “It was because of me. That incident affected my father – it robbed him of something; there’s a distrust that he didn’t have before. He comes from a generation with a certain kind of integrity. For a long time he didn’t understand things like bribery – it just perplexed him. The body of Efemena Okedi, wife of late Reggae star, Ras Kimono, was on Friday laid to rest at Atan cemetery, Yaba, Lagos. Okedi was Kimono’s manager and a member of his band when they were alive. Ras Kimono’s wife, Efe laid to rest amidst tears She passed away on June 10, at a Lagos hospital shortly after the death of her husband. The late Efe was buried at exactly 10.45 a.m. in a solemn mood amid tears from friends and family. Ras Kimono died after a brief illness and was laid to rest on Aug. 28, in Asaba.
