Sean 'Diddy' Combs is 'devastated and shocked' by death of ex Kim Porter at 47 after 'battling flu which turned into pneumonia'

Actress and model Kim Porter passed away on Thursday at the age of 47 after she was said to be battling the flu that turned into pneumonia.
And her ex and father to three of her children Sean 'Diddy' Combs was absolutely 'devastated' upon learning the news.

According to a source for People , the 49-year-old rapper maintained a very positive relationship with Porter.

'Diddy is devastated and shocked,' said the source, 'he and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work.'

The source also added that Diddy believed that 'they were still a family.

'TMZ report: 'Diddy never stopped interacting with Kim, despite breaking up way back in 2007. Their connection went beyond the fact they were co-parenting three kids... they genuinely had love and affection for each other.

'They celebrated holidays as a family, vacationed together and just hung out ... and there was never an extended period where they were at odds with each other.'

They never had a formal custody agreement. They accommodated each other's schedules when it came to the kids -- and it always worked.'

The model, actress and mother of four, including three children with Sean 'Diddy' Combs - was found dead in her home on Thursday.

The actress and model's cause of death, however, has not yet been confirmed.

Kim's close friend, Kimora Lee Simmons, 43, was seen sobbing outside the house as the body was removed by the coroner.

Simmons was beside herself as stood in the garage alongside other loved ones to Porter, who suddenly passed away Thursday after suffering flu-like symptoms and possibly pneumonia for several weeks, according to TMZ.

Celebrities also took to social media to express their condolences as Rihanna wrote on Instagram:

'This is heavy. heartbroken about this man. we lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out. so many will be affected by this, some won't even know why...but the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit.'

R.I.P to Kim Porter, I send my condolences to her friends and family,' wrote 50 Cent.
'She was loved and will be missed dearly. I know Puff is hit right now, he loved her for real, soul mate type s**t. Chin up puff, Positive vibes only.'

Wendy Williams shared:

'I just heard the sad news about Kim Porter. My condolences to Diddy and Kim's families. Rest In Peace.'

'Totally shocked. Kim Porter has left us. Too young. Nothing but memories of her, my lil bro and I goofing around in the lab with Al B.

Heartfelt prayers/condolences to the family especially the kids. Sad,' Tevin Campbell wrote.
